Custom Energy-Efficient Window Upgrade
Severe thermal leakage around aging vinyl windows caused high energy bills and drafts at this Quail Valley residence. We executed a full perimeter replacement using double-pane Low-E glass and precision thermal sealing—eliminating draft points and reducing HVAC load by 25%.
Project Journal
The initial site assessment revealed significant thermal leakage around aging single-pane vinyl frames, contributing to severe draftiness and inflated monthly cooling expenses. Ambient interior temperatures near the window perimeters averaged 8 degrees higher than the central thermostat setting due to solar heat gain and broken perimeter seals.
Our installation crew safely removed the legacy window assemblies, inspected the rough opening framing for structural integrity, and applied multi-layer self-adhered waterproof flashing tape across all sill and jamb surfaces. Precision double-pane Low-E replacement units were installed, leveled, and secured with structural anchoring fasteners.
Following perimeter injection of low-expansion thermal foam and final trim placement, thermal imaging confirmed a complete thermal envelope seal. The project was handed over with all draft points eliminated and an estimated 25% reduction in HVAC heat load.
