High-Security Fiberglass Entry Door Upgrade
Severe frame warping and degraded weatherstripping on an aging wood entry door caused persistent drafts and hard-to-turn locks. We installed a pre-hung fiberglass entry door with double-bore lock reinforcement and magnetic weatherstripping—restoring full security, smooth operation, and total draft isolation.
Project Journal
The client requested an entryway upgrade to replace a warped exterior door that suffered from persistent air gaps, latch binding, and compromised lock security. Inspection showed frame sagging and degraded weatherstripping along the bottom threshold.
The legacy door assembly and jamb were cleared down to raw framing studs. Our team prepared the rough opening by installing a rigid waterproof sill pan and re-leveling the threshold framing. A custom pre-hung fiberglass entry door with double-bore lock reinforcement was set, plumbed, and anchored directly into the structural wall framing using heavy-gauge fasteners.
We applied low-expansion polyurethane foam around the interior perimeter gap and installed commercial-grade magnetic weatherstripping. Final operational testing verified effortless latching, deadbolt alignment, and complete isolation from outdoor drafts and noise.
